Regina Food Bank selling coffee as fundraiser

REGINA, SK — Coffee drinkers can now get their daily caffeine fix and help the community at the same time.

The Regina Food Bank, in conjunction with Food Banks of Saskatchewan, will now be selling OrGano Gold coffee to raise funds for provincial food banks.

“The opportunity to raise funds to support food banks is critical, particularly at this time of year when the need is great right across the province,” said Wayne Hellquist, CEO of the Regina Food Bank. “Summertime is a time when we do need support from the community and this is a unique way for people in the community to support us … As people purchase product throughout the year, they can continue to provide support for the food bank.”

OrGano Gold donated more than $99,000 worth of coffee to be sold through the food bank. The gourmet coffee is a blend of arabica and robusta beans and is a ph-neutral beverage thanks to the ganoderma lucidum (reishi mushroom), which balances out the acidity of the coffee. It is also packed with over 200 antioxidants and nutrients.

“People are drinking coffee everyday. It’s the second largest traded commodity in the world,” said David Bojic, regional consultant with OrGano Gold, adding he’s been a volunteer with the organization for several years.

“It’s good coffee, it’s good for your health and its good for the community,” he said.

Boxes of 15 sachets of the instant coffee can be purchased through the food bank for $30.

Shane here with a quick update as I cross Canada on the OG tour…  We started off in Regina, SK and the Saskatchewan Team packed it out and added some fuel to the OG fire in the Province.  We had a special guest, Director of Operations for the Regina Food Bank, Steve Compton was in attendance and gave a moving speech about the significant impact OrGano Gold will have not only in Regina but throughout the Province. Way to Go OG!  Congratulations to Dave and Lee Bojic for your incredible contribution towards this worthwhile effort!

 

Next was the enthusiastic Team in Victoria, BC, headed by fearless leader Danielle Marley. There will be some incredible announcements forth coming regarding the work this team is doing with the pediatric division of the Victoria Hospital.  Team Victoria is making a difference in the community while making a living… What could be better?

Next Stop was Calgary, Alberta where they rolled out the RED CARPET and packed in a standing room only crowd and an awesome Team Alberta event.  I had the honor of touring the STARS facilities in Calgary prior to the event and I am still in AWE at the dedication these people have to saving lives.  STARS has announced that OG will be a part of every fundraising event they have… ( here is a clue…) They have 30 + events in June alone!  Congratulations to Vicky Gardner for having the courage to think enough about the STARS program to introduce them to the OG King of Fundraisers… ( See Details HERE )

 

Next stop was Winnipeg, Manitoba and congratulations to Dave and Sheila Webster for planting the OG flag in this incredible coffee drinking province.  They had members of their team attend the OG Summit in Las Vegas and their genuine enthusiasm for OG and their future was infectious.  Watch out for the Ganoderma-Lyzer in the Summer Recipe Book…
